How do I check my car tax?

If you’re a new car owner, you may be unsure as to whether your car is taxed and, how much you need to pay.  In order to check to see if your vehicle is taxed, visit https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-tax (make sure that you have the registration number to hand).  After you enter the registration number, the system will tell you (a) if the vehicle is taxed and (b) when that tax will need to be renewed).
