Car tax forms explained
As a vehicle owner / user, there are a number of forms which you may be required to have in order to stay within the law. These forms are:
V11
This is a form which current car tax payers will receive from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) when the tax on their vehicle is due to expire. You can use the reference number on this form to renew your car tax online, by phone or at the Post Office.
V5C
You should receive a V5C form when you register yourself as the keeper or owner of a vehicle – this form contains everything you need should you need to contact the DVLA regarding an issue.
V62
A V62 form is used if you wish to apply to register a vehicle and can be obtained either online or from the Post Office. You may also need to get hold of a V62 form if you have lost, or not received a V5C form.
V112
You will need a V112 form if you think that your vehicle is exempt from tax due to being historical or very low emission.
